Island Bliss: Save Up to A$23,570 on Luxury Mediterranean Getaways – Book Now!

Europe in summer can be glorious and Australian small ship cruise specialist, Cruise Traveller, has combined two luxury voyages aboard a boutique Ponant ship in 2024 to create a new package that unveils the beauty and charms of some of the Mediterranean’s less visited and more secluded islands and destinations away from summer crowds.

Adding to the allure are savings of up to A$23,570 for couples and A$19,705 for solos and a free night in an Athens hotel, pre-cruise, for bookings made by June 30, 2023.

Cruise Traveller’s new 18-night ‘Gorgeous Greece and Malta’ package in July, 2024, features two, back-to-back cruises aboard Ponant’s sleek, 184-guest exploration ship, Le Bougainville which boasts a refined and intimate elegance, fine dining restaurants, plush lounges, theatre, underwater multi-sensory lounge, panoramic pool and personalised service. All staterooms offer a private balcony.

The holiday begins with a free night in an Athens hotel on July 22, 2024, before guests board Le Bougainville in nearby Piraeus for a majestic, 17-night journey to Nice via idyllic, quieter, sun-drenched islands in Greece, Italy, Malta and France. The 17-night, back-to-back, high summer itinerary comprises a seven-night cruise from Athens to Malta and a 10-night cruise from Malta to Nice.

The extended voyage spotlights gems like the whitewashed houses and sapphire waters of Paros, the quiet, traffic-free idyll of Hydra, the fortified medieval village of Monemvasia, the sun-blessed Greek island of Kythira, enchanting Pylos, the romantic Sicilian village of Taormina where the ancient, Greek, open-air theatre is still used today, and old-world Valletta – the capital of Malta and the smallest capital city in Europe.

Le Bougainville will then set course for the tiny, Maltese, hideaway islands of Gozo and Comino, which both boast turquoise waters and dreamy beaches, and sail past the lava-flowing volcano of Stromboli before arriving at the pretty, pastel-coloured town of Lipari in the Aeolian Islands. The colourful Tuscan fishing village of Porto Ercole appears next on the horizon along with the tiny Italian island of Giglio as well as the picturesque, cliff-hugging Italian Riviera town of Portofino. The Corsican port of Calvi, known for its sublime beaches and crystal waters is also featured before the voyage ends in glamorous Nice on the French Riviera.

Including an open bar aboard the ship, the 18-night package in July, 2024, is available from A$14,220 per person, twin-share in a Deluxe Balcony stateroom – a saving of A$6650 per person. In a Deluxe Suite, fares are from A$24,120 per person, twin-share – a saving of A$11,785 per person. Solo travellers can also enjoy large savings with fares from A$20,765 – a saving of A$19,705. The savings and pre-cruise free night in Athens are for bookings made with Cruise Traveller by June 30, 2023.  Flights from Australia are additional, which Cruise Traveller can arrange. Fares are subject to availability.
