PONANT, the French luxury cruise line, has unveiled its latest documentary “Australia’s Iconic Kimberley,” presented by its brand ambassador and Australian media personality Andrew Daddo. The film showcases Daddo’s 11-day voyage aboard PONANT’s small expedition ship, Le Laperouse, as he explores the magnificent northernmost region of Western Australia’s coastline. The 50-minute feature will premiere on PONANT’s website on March 6th, 2023.
Following the success of the 2021 release of “Beyond the Polar Circle,” this documentary is the second instalment of PONANT’s documentary series. The film invites viewers to experience the Kimberley region’s breathtaking beauty, including its wilderness landscapes, waterfalls, gorges, tidal phenomena, and Indigenous history. Daddo is joined by PONANT’s Head of Expeditions and Destination Development for Asia Pacific, Mick Fogg, along with other destination specialists who offer expert insights into the region.
Daddo, who has an infectious personality and is known for his relaxed and engaging manner, takes viewers on a journey through Kimberley’s unique landscapes and wildlife. The film crew captures Daddo’s expedition along the Kimberley coast, showcasing the majestic Twin Falls, the highest falls in Western Australia, the wild mangrove forests home to estuarine crocodiles, and Montgomery Reef, the world’s largest inshore reef.
