After waving a temporary farewell to the Sunshine State 155 days ago, Carnival Luminosa has embarked on the return journey to her Australian home port of Brisbane. The ship departed Seattle today on a 31-day transpacific Journeys cruise with sights set on Queensland, where she will be welcomed back for a second Australian season.
Following 19 successful cruises during the North American summer season, Carnival Luminosa will sail into the sunny shores of Brisbane on 15 October, where she will once again be homeported until April 2024.
Passengers onboard the voyage will visit exciting ports over 31 days, including stops in Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Guests will also have time at sea to enjoy Luminosa’s beloved range of onboard activities including Punchliner Comedy Club, Playlist Productions, and one of the largest spas at sea, Cloud 9 Spa. Fan-favourite dining options Bonsai Sushi Express, Pizzeria del Capitano, and Fahrenheit 555 will be serving up delicious dishes throughout the month-long journey.
While homeported in Brisbane for the summer cruise season, Carnival Luminosa will embark on 31 sailings between October 2023 and April 2024 visiting a range of picturesque destinations. Itineraries include local favourites such as Airlie Beach and the Great Barrier Reef as well as tropical South Pacific destinations including New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea.
On the ship’s transpacific journey back to Queensland, Carnival Cruise Line VP Kara Glamore said, “After a fantastic season in North America, we’re so excited to be welcoming Carnival Luminosa back home to Brisbane. We know Queenslanders have been eagerly awaiting her return and our crew can’t wait to welcome our Aussie guests back onboard to experience all the FUN they’ve come to know and love on a Carnival cruise.”
Carnival Luminosa’s first cruise of the season is a 7-night Great Barrier Reef sailing departing from Brisbane on 15 October 2023.
