American Cruise Lines Debuts Its First-Ever USA Land and River Package

American Cruise Lines has introduced its first-ever land and river package – a grand, two-week exploration of America’s wild North-West from Oregon to Wyoming, featuring a spectacular river journey along the storied Columbia and Snake rivers and a guided land tour encompassing some of America’s most breathtaking natural scenery including the famous geysers of the world’s oldest national park, Yellowstone.

And to help Australians be amongst the first to experience American Cruise Lines’ new river and land journey, Australian small ship cruise specialist, Cruise Traveller, has released an exclusive, 16-night ‘National Parks and Legendary Rivers’ fly, stay and cruise package for 2024 in partnership with American Cruise Lines.

Ten departure dates are available from June to September, 2024, with Cruise Traveller offering savings of A$2730 per couple and A$1570 for solo travellers for bookings made by June 30, 2023

The 16-night holiday begins with a night in San Francisco, a flight to Portland, Oregon, and another night there before guests board one of American Cruise Lines’ contemporary river ships, American Harmony, American Song or American Jazz, in Portland for a scenic, seven-night voyage cruise along the Columbia and Snake Rivers. Each ship boasts a stunning, five-storey glass atrium, library, fitness and wellness centre, dining room, spacious sun decks and plush lounges and bars, with every cabin sporting its own private balcony from which to take in the majesty of the riverscape.

The cruise to Clarkston in Washington traces the footsteps of legendary explorers, Lewis and Clark, the first Americans to cross the western portion of the United States, from 1804 to 1806. The cruise also offers many complimentary shore excursions which allow guests to explore historic townships such as Astoria – the oldest American settlement west of the Rockies. The cruise journeys through the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge, lined with hidden waterfalls, rocky cliffs, wildflowers and also vineyards, for which the Pacific Northwest is renowned worldwide.

From Clarkston, guests will join American Cruise Lines’ new, guided, seven-night coach tour across Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, visiting the wild, glacier-carved peaks, dense, ancient forests and pristine, turquoise lakes of Glacier National Park, the world’s first national park – Yellowstone, established in 1872, and home to the world-famous geyser, Old Faithful, and the awe-inspiring lakes, alpine terrain and wildlife of Grand Teton National Park. From Jackson, Wyoming, guests will fly to Los Angeles where the holiday ends.
