In a spectacular move defining luxury river cruising’s future, A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH unveils its grand plan to welcome two magnificent additions to its esteemed fleet. Launching in April 2024, the 110-metre-long premium ships—A-ROSA ALEA and A-ROSA CLEA—promise an unparalleled sailing experience on Europe’s famed Rhine River.
While seasoned travellers eagerly anticipate this venture, A-ROSA’s strategic evolution is evident. Come 2025, the scenic vistas of the Seine in northern France, stretching from the romantic heart of Paris to the Atlantic’s rustic embrace at Le Havre, will be graced by one of these ships. Concurrently, the current sentinel of the Seine, A-ROSA VIVA, shall retrace its voyage back to the Rhine.
The plot thickens in 2026 as the second ship sets sail towards uncharted waters—the pristine Gironde/Garonne in France’s esteemed Bordeaux region, marking two brand-new river conquests for A-ROSA.
Jörg Eichler, the visionary CEO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH, exclaims, “The infusion of these two ships into our fleet is serendipitous. Forecasts project that as 2023 curtains, we’ll be echoing the accolades of our 2019 record-breaking season.” With an impressive over 90% cabin capacity sales, coupled with a projected 40% revenue surge year-on-year, A-ROSA’s ascent is indisputable. “The Rhine’s allure is insatiable, and anchoring our vessels there aligns with the overwhelming demand,” Eichler adds.
As voyagers pine for the ship’s debut, they can anticipate sailing to enchanting locales—from Amsterdam and Rotterdam in the north to the picturesque cities of Basel and Strasbourg down south. The ships shall also weave through the scenic Moselle route, culminating their journey in Trier. October 2023 marks the month when these voyages are up for grabs.
Constructed in the artistic realms of the Netherlands in 2009, these ships echo A-ROSA’s signature luxury. Each vessel caters to 138 privileged guests, with cabins offering panoramic views and suites that redefine opulence. Modern amenities, including a whirlpool, state-of-the-art fitness centre, and three lounges—one offering an alfresco experience—are the cherries on top.
Food connoisseurs are in for a treat. Echoing the culinary brilliance of A-ROSA ALVA in Portugal, guests will indulge in an exquisite dining saga—from lavish buffets to table-served gourmet delights.
The accolades keep pouring in for A-ROSA. Recent recognition by the German trade stalwart, fvw | TravelTalk, crowned them as the zenith in river cruise operators. The study, conducted by Innolink and representing 191 travel agencies, lauds A-ROSA’s unparalleled culinary ventures, pristine cabin services, and exemplary shore excursions.
